Roi was the Israeli national judo champion, won second place in the regional Bible contest, and graduated with highest honors from the Herzliya College of Engineering.

Roi Miller grew up and was educated in a traditional, value-based, and warm home. He chose a combat path in the Rotem Battalion of the Givati Brigade, and from there continued directly to the officers’ course.

Miller received command of a platoon composed of soldiers from ultra-Orthodox homes – a unique and complex challenge. The platoon belonged to the “Tomer” Company, known among its members as “The Family,” and together they embarked on a meaningful journey of brotherhood, growth, and shared challenges.

Roi Z”L was a commander who believed in each and every one of his soldiers, encouraging them to believe in themselves and to bring out their individual strengths. Through his determination and humanity, he served not only as a brave commander, but also as a father figure and a source of guidance, care, and inspiration.
