Staff Sergeant

Ofir Tzioni Z”L

Fell in battle: כב' תשרי תשפ"ד | 07.10.2023

A squad commander in the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade, 21 years old at the
time of his death.
Beloved son of Noga and Ran, brother to Nir and Shir.
He lived in Yokneam Illit and studied computer science and physics, excelling both
academically and socially.

Ofir was known for his modesty, inner calm, and kindness. Everywhere he went, he
radiated light, joy, and love. He always saw the good in others and believed that no
one should be judged. He listened, advised, and helped with humility, never seeking
thanks.

On October 7th, Ofir was stationed at the Erez outpost near Kibbutz Zikim, along the
northern Gaza border — the first line of defense for the nearby communities. When
the rocket attacks began, he and another soldier went to Zikim Beach to stop
terrorists attempting to infiltrate Israel from the sea. Realizing they faced dozens of
terrorists, they returned to the outpost to defend the nearby towns.

During the battle, Ofir was struck by two bullets and fell in action. In his death, he
protected the outpost and surrounding communities, preventing their capture and
saving many lives.
